All alone

The power goes out for 8 hours, both kids go nuts, all the food needs to be moved downstairs to the fridge, which along with the pump, is hooked into the neighbors generator, thanks to 100 feet of extension chords that I managed to gather while the kids screamed. The muggy humid summer weather here in the Chicago area (aka America's Armpit) has created temps indoors over 85 degrees (remember, no power, no a/c). Upstairs, it was probably almost 100, and the baby clearly enjoyed his night of sleep (not). Thanks to all the chaos, I didn't eat dinner.

At least Sara is enjoying her relaxing weekend in Holland, socializing with old friends, sitting on a boat, enjoying the cool summer breezes....

I'm trying not to laugh Leys because I'm sure the kids have been awful but I just can't help it! No dinner? Aww, poor you. Welcome to the world of being a "mom".

Sara, I hope you had a wonderful time (even with all of the rain)!

Kudos Mark for being a good dad, Now here'e a question. Now, exactly why am I supposed to be excited about moving back to the land of cold winters and humid summers?

Poooooor Babyyyyy.
Ha!
I second Krista's last sentence..welcome to Motherhood! Did you also manage to run errands, have all the laundry done and folded, have the house spotless, and a home-cooked meal ready when she walked in the door Sun night?
=)

the house was spotless, the laundry done, the dishers put away and we made it to Meijers & the mall, plus most importantly, I had time to blog. However, when Sara is doing all of that, I'm actually working, not sitting on a boat, drinking, socializing... Staying Home w/ the kids (w/ no power in the house) was waaaayyyyy easier than the office grind.
